The ISC is excited to offer our 3rd year of the JR. BAGIL INDOOR LEAGUE FOR OUR ISC U13-U14 Boys and Girls
Session II -January 2017-March 2017
REGISTRATION OPENED ON 1/8/2017
Registration is closed.
What is the ISC JR. BAGIL Indoor League?
The ISC JR. BAGIL is in third year. THE JR. BAGIL combines U13-U14 boys on mixed teams for 2 sessions of indoor soccer each winter. All games will be played at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center, known as the HTRC. The facility address is 2820 Prairie Meadow Drive, Iowa City, Iowa. PLEASE NOTE that All of the games will be played in the old turf area, named the "HAWKEYE TURF." Players are NOT allowed to wear cleats on this surface.
How does the league work?
The league is set up so that all participants sign up as individuals. Participants are placed on a team with other players and they will remain on the same team for the entire session. The ISC Coaching Staff will form teams.
All participants for session II of 2017, will be guaranteed 9 indoor games with the team that they are assigned to play with for the session. In addition, the ISC coaching staff will ensure that all players on each team will play as close to half of each game as possible.
In addition, the top 4 teams in the division will play a match-up game for the First place title and for 3rd place position in the league. Therefore, 4 of the 10 teams will play a 10th game.
Who is eligible for the league?
Participants must be a registered ISC "POPPI" player or ISC Advanced Year Round Player to compete in the league. Players from other clubs are not allowed to participate in the ISC JR. BAGIL League. Players that are ISC "POP" players are not eligible to play in the league at the 13U-14U level although we do allow "POP" players to do this at the younger ages.
Format of League-5v5 Indoor Soccer
5v5 Indoor Soccer-No Walls- (4v4 + Keepers with a futsal ball) Games are played on an excellent turf field at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center on the old turf area named the HAWKEYE TURF. Players are NOT allowed to wear cleats on this surface. Since there are no walls, when the ball is played out of bounds, we will play kick-ins for restarts.
We will use a futsal ball, but we will not use the official futsal rules for play.
The field space will be 25 yards wide by 40 yards long. With 4 field players on each team and a goalie for each team, the space allows for good soccer to be played by the teams.
Who coaches the teams?
The ISC staff will be present for each team to coach the games.
When is the League Offered?
We hold two sessions each year.
Session I runs from November 2016 through early January 2017.
Session II runs from January 2017 through March 2017.

If I sign up for the league, do I need to make all 9 games?
No. Your team will have subs and the team only needs 5 to play at one time. You are allowed to miss some games if you have conflicts.
Cost for the League: $90 Per Player
$90 Per Player for 9 League Games and a league jersey.
Maximum Roster: The maximum roster per team is 9 players.
We will NOT place more than 9 players on each team. We will form 8 teams.
Our coaches will guarantee that you will play at least half of each match.
Duration of each match
45 minutes with a running clock-no half time.
We will have 10 teams for Session II. (We ended up only having 8 teams so we gave all teams 11 regular season games and 1 match-up game for a total of 12 games instead of just 9.)
Each team will play the other 9 teams in the league.
Once everyone has completed 9 games, we will take the top 4 teams in the league and have the #1 team in the standings play the #2 team in the standings for first place and the #3 team will play the #4 team for 3rd place. As a result, the top 4 teams in the league will have a 10th game, whereas the rest of the teams will only play 9.
Minimum Players Required for Each game
Your team must have 5 players dressed and ready to play with shinguards on and jerseys on by the time the referee blows the whistle to start the game if you want to avoid a forfeit. We take this rule very seriously as this is a serious league meant for competitive players. Given the high cost of the league, we want teams to play games against opponents that are dedicated and opponents who respect the league. If you do not start the game with five players that are listed on your roster, your team will forfeit the game.
Forfeit questions came up many times last session. All players need to be informed of this rule. We will not make exceptions to the rule. There is no fair way of knowing how late is too late to arrive and allow the game to be played without declaring a forfeit. Therefore, we have made things clear and simple for the players. As soon as the whistle blows to start of the game, your team must have 5 players dressed and ready to play, and your five players must be on the field if you want to avoid a forfeit.
If you start the game with five players, and then during the game a player is injured, you can finish the game with less than five players.
If your team forfeits a game, the game is recorded as an 0-8 Loss for the forfeiting team.
Registration opened on 1/8/2017.
